Follow Your Heart, Book Two

"So you're really going?"  Jason asked.  Alisha nodded as he paused.
"I'm going to miss you," he finally said.  "Don't go too far, you promise?"  Alisha stared up at him, then nodded again.
Jason opened his arms up and she walked into them, giving him a careful hug. He pulled back.
     "You know what?" he asked.
     "What?"
"You're not so little anymore," he answered.
"Yah?" Alisha returned, a soft smile escaping her lips.
"Yah," he answered.  Pulling back, he looked at her.
"You know Sutton loves you, don't you?" he asked next.
"Then why Jasmine?" she asked.  Jason's head shook.
"I don't know," he answered.  "You're doing what's best though...giving him some space.  Maybe he just needs to figure things out."  Pausing, Alisha finally nodded.
"I guess I'd better make sure you're leaving me on good terms.  I mean, it wouldn't have been a true brother-sister relationship if you didn't annoy me so much growing up, right?" he suddenly asked.  Alisha smiled.
"Right, my annoying you was a very normal sister thing to do" she answered, smiling again. Both of them stood hesitantly, neither of them ready to budge. Finally, Jason looked up at Alisha.
"Well, for some reason I'm feeling like this is really it.  You really are going" he stated.
"I'm really going," she answered.  Pausing, he looked down at the suitcases she'd packed.
"Well then, I guess I'd better help you carry your bags."

There's that time.... when a little sister grows up.  And when that time comes, Alisha finds that she can stand on her own.  She learns that she does have a voice.  And, she learns to follow her heart.  You see, sometimes in life others let you down.  Someone close to you, could very well break your heart.  And then when you think things can't get any worse, one of those phone calls comes.  And life as you know it, crumbles.  But, here's what Alisha learns.  If you have the faith, if you hold on - if you keep believing in that fairy tale.... you may just find that it all works out in the end.  Just like it was meant to.

*  This book has been written, I'm needing to spend some good time editing it  :)
